Contribution Limits (2026): - Maximum annual contribution to a registered party: $1,775 - Maximum annual contribution to each registered nomination contestant, candidate or association: $1,775 - Maximum total annual contributions: $3,550
Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents may contribute to federal political parties. Contributions from corporations, trade unions, and foreign entities are prohibited.
All contributions over $20 are reported to Elections Canada and are part of the public record. Tax receipts are issued for all contributions, which qualify for the federal political contribution tax credit.
